Nature's Strength™ Colostrum

  1. Nature's Strength™ Colostrum
  2. Children's chewable Colostrum
Product description

Nature's Strength™ Colostrum is a pre-milk fluid that jump-starts an infant’s immune system and stimulates normal growth.

Nature’s Strength™ is colostrum collected soon after the newborn calf’s first meal, when immune factors and renewal factors are at their peak. Medical research has shown that the most important immune and growth factors for human adults and children can be provided by bovine (cow) colostrum. Because colostrum is a food rather than a drug, it is free of toxicity and can be consumed without any known side effects.

Key ingredients are:

  • 100% pure bovine (cow) colostrum
  • 37 different immune factors
  • 8 growth factors

Children's chewable Colostrum flavor:

  • Natural strawberry
  • Tablets are more palatable to children than capsules
  • Cold-pressed chewables

It takes tremendous pressure (which creates high temperatures) to form most tablets. When you apply this heat to colostrum, you destroy the biological activity of colostrum's immune and growth factors. Nature's Strength™ tablets (and capsules) are formed with low heat, so that none of the biological activity is lost.

Nature's Strength™ products are manufactured in the United States from US cattle.

What is colostrum?

Colostrum (kulos'-trum), sometimes called "mothers' milk," is a thick yellow fluid produced from the mammary glands during the first hours after birth. This fluid is so important that without it, many newborn mammals would simply die. It is not only a source of nutrients such as proteins, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals, but it also contains several biologically-active molecules which are essential to the body's immune and growth functions.

Taking human colostrum is not a feasible option, so an alternative was found: bovine colostrum. Not only are the immune and growth factors found in bovine colostrum virtually identical to those in human colostrum, the immune factors are reportedly four times richer.

Moreover, bovine colostrum contains special glyco-proteins and protease inhibitors, which are found extremely effective in protecting colostrum's active components from the destructive forces of the human body's digestive system.

Since colostrum is only available during the first hours after calving, and the needs of the newborn calf must be met first, supplies are obviously still very limited. And when you consider colostrum should be taken from only cows that are free of antibiotics, pesticides and synthetic hormones, supplies of the highest-quality colostrum are even more limited.

There are over 90 known components in colostrum. The primary components, divided into two classes, are immune factors and growth factors. Colostrum also contains a precise balance of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. All of these factors work together in perfect synergy to restore and maintain health.

The two most important components found in colostrum are:

  • immune factors
  • growth factors

Immune factors provide immunity and protection against infections during the first weeks of life, while growth factors stimulate the growth and eventual development of a newborn.

Immune factors

Immune Factors in colostrum have been shown to help the body fight off harmful invaders such as viruses, bacteria, yeast and fungus. Each factor plays a specific role in our body’s defense against these attackers. In addition, colostrum contains over 20 antibodies to specific pathogens including E coli, salmonella, rotavirus, candida, streptococcus, staphylococcus, H pylori, and cryptosporidia.

In addition to immunoglobulins, medical studies show that PRP in colostrum also supports an under active immune system. PRP also helps balance an overactive immune system present in autoimmune diseases.

Growth factors:

Growth Factors help build and restore bone, muscle, nerve tissue, connective tissue, skin and cartilage. These factors have also been shown to help increase lean muscle, help the body burn fat for fuel, and assist in wound healing. Growth factors have also been shown to help slow the signs of aging and may:

  • affect the brain’s mood regulating chemicals to brighten our moods (serotonin and dopamine).
  • assist in regeneration and improve normal growth of aged or injured muscle, bone, cartilage, skin collagen and nerve tissue.
  • help burn fat for fuel instead of muscle tissue in times of fasting (diet), and build & retain lean muscle (non-diet).
  • assist the internal regulation of blood glucose levels and "brain chemicals", supporting alertness and better concentration.
  • support healing skin when applied topically.
  • repair our body’s precious RNA and DNA.

Other beneficial components:

Vitamins and minerals are nutrients that are essential for normal metabolism, growth and development. They act as coenzymes, enabling chemical process to take place throughout the body. Vitamins and minerals are indispensable for the maintenance of health.

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. They are required for growth and development. Amino acids are divided into essential (not produced by the body) and nonessential (can be produced by the body).

Key ingredients in Nature Strength™ Colostrum?

Immune factors:

Medical and clinical studies show immune factors in colostrum fight viruses, bacteria, yeast, fungus, allergens and other toxins.

Immunoglobulins :
Immunoglobulins have been shown to provide a superior defense in both treatment and prevention of viral infections, bacterial infections, allergies, fungus and yeast. There are 5 types of immunoglobulins present in colostrum, specifically IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG, & IgM. Bovine colostrum contains mostly IgG with very small amounts of IgA, IgD, IgE, and IgM. Human colostrum typically contains 2% IgG content, while bovine colostrum can have from 8% to above 25% IgG content. These are protein molecules that are effective in fighting bacterial and viral infections (colds, flu, etc.), parasites, and yeast. Immunoglobulins are energizing elements in colostrum that are anti-inflammatory in nature. High quality bovine colostrum contains a minimum of 20% immunoglobulins.
Antibodies:
Colostrum has been shown to contain specific antibodies to more than 19 specific disease-causing pathogens including; rotavirus, h. pylori, cryptosporidium, salmonella, candida, streptococcus, staphylococcus and E. coli.
PRP:
PRP (proline-rich polypeptide) has been shown to help regulate the thymus gland (bodies’ central command for the immune system). PRP can stimulate a weakened immune system, as well as balance an overactive immune system, as in the case of many autoimmune diseases.
Lactoferrin:
An iron-binding protein with antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties. Lactoferrin has been implicated in the treatment of such diseases as cancer, HIV, herpes, chronic fatigue, candida albicans and other infections.
Glycoproteins:
Glycoproteins like protease and trypsin inhibitors protect the immune and growth factors in colostrum from destruction by the digestive juices in the stomach and intestinal tract.
Lactalbumins:
Research indicates tremendous possibilities that Lactalbumins can be highly effective against numerous forms of cancer and viruses. Lactalbumin has also been shown in vulnerable subjects to raise brain serotonin activity, reduce cortisol concentration, and improve mood under stress.
Cytokines:
Interleukin 1 and 6, Interferon Y amd Lymphokines are chemicals involved in cell-to-cell communication, antiviral and anti-tumor activity and regulation and intensity of immune responses. Cytokines help increase T-cell activity and stimulate production of immunoglobulins. One cytokine, interleukin-10, is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that has been shown to have a profound effect on pain relief. Interleukins have shown particular promise in fighting cancer.
Lysozymes:
Lysozymes help protect the body from bacterial infections. Lysozymes have actually been shown to destroy bacteria on contact and may be an effective topical antibiotic.

Growth factors:

Medical studies have shown that the vital growth factors from bovine colostrum are practically identical to human colostrum in composition. Furthermore, it has been shown that growth factors stimulate normal growth, as well as help regenerate and accelerate the repair of aged or injured muscle, skin collagen, bone, cartilage and nerve tissues. Growth factors also stimulate the body to burn fat for fuel instead of the body's own muscle tissue in times of fasting (diet) and build lean muscle. In addition, growth factors can be used as an effective topical application for burns, injuries and skin rejuvenation.

EGF:
Epithelial Growth Factor or EGF is instrumental in protecting and maintaining the skin. Along with the other growth factors in colostrum, EGF can stimulate normal skin growth and repair cellular tissue.
IGF I and II:
Insulin-like Growth Factor I and II or IGF-I and IGF-II are the most abundant growth factors in colostrum. They affect how the body uses fat, protein and sugar. IGF-I is one of the only substances known to stimulate the repair and growth of DNA and RNA, making it one of the most powerful anti-aging substances. IGF-I has been clinically proven to help increase lean muscle mass and may help regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
TGF A and B:
Transforming Growth Factors A and B are also known as TGF A and B. TGF stimulates the proliferation of cells in connective tissue and assists in the formation of bone and cartilage. It is also showing promise as a therapeutic agent in bone and wound healing. TGF can help repair tissue and may support the development of growth of the lining of the gut.
PDGF:
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor or PDGF has been shown to help with cell division in connective tissue, smooth muscle, and fibroblasts. It may also assist in neuron survival and regeneration.
Vitamins and minerals:
The vitamins and minerals in colostrum are naturally occurring and naturally balanced.
