What is PayPal?
PayPal is an account-based system that lets anyone with an e-mail
address securely send and receive online payments using their credit card or
bank account.
With PayPal, you can send and receive payments through the
Internet. Once you sign up for PayPal, you can send money to anyone with an
e-mail address using the money from your PayPal balance or another funding
option of your choice.
Recipients are notified by e-mail that they have received a
payment.
PayPal enables any business or consumer with an e-mail address to
securely, conveniently, and cost-effectively send and receive payments online.
The PayPal network builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank
accounts and credit cards to create a global, real-time payment solution.
PayPal delivers a product ideally suited for small businesses, online
merchants, individuals and others currently underserved by traditional payment
mechanisms.
PayPal offers service to users in 38 countries including the
United States and has over 16 million registered users, including more than 3
million business accounts. The PayPal account base is growing by an average of
28,000 accounts per day, with virtually no traditional sales or marketing.
PayPal's service, which lets users send payments for free,
can be used from PCs or Web-enabled mobile phones.
EBay's acquisition of PayPal was completed on October 3, 2002, and
as a result, PayPal will eventually be integrated into the eBay platform.
PayPal will continue to provide service to members, who use their accounts for
transactions not associated with eBay. PayPal also will continue to offer
credit card, debit card, and money market services.
Is PayPal secure?
Yes. PayPal uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. In
addition, when you send a payment using PayPal, Souzao Enterprises will not
receive sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank
account number.
This way, you don't have to worry about paying people you don't
know.
The security of your information, transactions, and money is the
core of our business and our top priority at Souzao Enterprises.
PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in
transit from your computer to theirs using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol
(SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially
available).
Before you even register or log in to the Souzao Enterprises
PayPal account, the PayPal server checks that you are using an approved browser
- one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher. Once this information reaches them, it
resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and
electronically.
The PayPal servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not
directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available
only to authorized computers.
How much does it cost to sign up for PayPal?
Nothing.
Our customers are advised to open a PayPal Personal account for
purchasing items in our online store.

What it means to be Verified
To become Verified, a PayPal member must provide PayPal with proof
that he or she has opened an account at a bank or other financial institution.
Because these institutions are required by law to screen account holders,
PayPal's verification process increases security when you pay parties you do
not know. Please note that PayPal's verification system does not constitute an
endorsement of a member, nor a guarantee of a member's business practices. You
should always consider other indicators when evaluating members, including
length of PayPal membership and reputation scores (on eBay or other auction
sites, if applicable).
Note on International buyers
Because International members cannot use the PayPal verification
system, no International member can have a Verified status.

You must contact PayPal as soon as you can, if you think your
statement is wrong or if you need more information about a transfer shown on
the statement.
PayPal must hear from you no later than 60 days after the
problem or error has appeared on your on-line statement.
PayPal may ask you some
questions
If your initial contact is by phone, you may be requested to send
your complaint or question in writing within 10 business days.
PayPal will advise you of the results of their investigation
within 10 business days after they hear from you (20 business days for
transactions at a point of sale terminal or outside the United States) and if
they have made an error, they will correct it promptly.
If more time is needed, however, PayPal may take up to 45 days to
investigate your complaint or question (90 days for transactions at a point of
sale terminal or outside the United States). If PayPal decides to do this, they
will provisionally re-credit your account within 10 days for the amount you
think is in error, so that you will have use of the money during the time it
takes us to complete their investigation. If they ask you to put your question
or complaint in writing and they do not receive it within 10 business days,
PayPal may not provisionally re-credit your account.
At the end of their investigation, PayPal will advise you of the
results within three (3) business days. If PayPal determines that there was no
error, they will send you a written explanation and may debit any provisional
credit, any fees, and, or interest provisionally credited in relation to the
alleged error. You may ask for copies of the documents that PayPal used in
their investigation. |
