  4. How you know when you are using a secure channel

In order to operate our online ordering system and to reduce the risk of fraud, Souzao Enterprises has selected a widely used online payment system called PayPal.

PayPal is an account-based system that lets anyone with an e-mail address securely send and receive online payments using their credit card or bank account.

With PayPal, you can send and receive payments through the Internet. Once you sign up for PayPal, you can send money to anyone with an e-mail address using the money from your PayPal balance or another funding option of your choice.

Recipients are notified by e-mail that they have received a payment.

PayPal enables any business or consumer with an e-mail address to securely, conveniently, and cost-effectively send and receive payments online. The PayPal network builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and credit cards to create a global, real-time payment solution. PayPal delivers a product ideally suited for small businesses, online merchants, individuals and others currently underserved by traditional payment mechanisms.

PayPal offers service to users in 38 countries including the United States and has over 16 million registered users, including more than 3 million business accounts. The PayPal account base is growing by an average of 28,000 accounts per day, with virtually no traditional sales or marketing.

PayPal's service, which lets users send payments for free, can be used from PCs or Web-enabled mobile phones.

EBay's acquisition of PayPal was completed on October 3, 2002, and as a result, PayPal will eventually be integrated into the eBay platform. PayPal will continue to provide service to members, who use their accounts for transactions not associated with eBay. PayPal also will continue to offer credit card, debit card, and money market services.

To process an order, we must ask you to provide us information about yourself and your credit card or bank account.

This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect and how we use that information. Souzao Enterprises takes the privacy of your personal information very seriously and will use your information only in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information or a list of our customers to third parties.

Web site traffic information

When you arrive at or leave the PayPal Web site, PayPal automatically receives the Web address of the site that you came from or are going to. PayPal also collects information on which pages of our Web site you visit while you are on the PayPal Web site, the type of browser you use and the times you access their Web site.

PayPal use of cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information attached to your browser by a Web site that you visit.

Cookies are used to track usage patterns, traffic trends and customer behavior, as well as to record other information from the Web site. When you register on the PayPal Web site, cookies also allow PayPal to save information so that you will not have to re-enter it the next time you visit. Many content adjustments and customer service improvements are made based on the data derived from cookies. Information that PayPal collects from cookies will not be used to create profiles of users and will only be used in aggregate form.

PayPal sends a "session cookie" to your computer if and when you log in to a PayPal account by entering your e-mail address and password. These cookies allow PayPal to recognize you if you visit multiple pages in their Web site during the same session, so that you don’t need to re-enter your password multiple times. Once you log out or close your browser, these session cookies expire and no longer have any effect.

PayPal also uses longer-lasting cookies to display your e-mail address on their sign-in form, so that you don't have to retype the e-mail address each time when you log in to a PayPal account. The PayPal cookie files are encoded so that your e-mail address and other information can only be interpreted by PayPal. PayPal may, however, share cookie information regarding whether or not a certain user is already registered with PayPal with certain merchants with whom they have an official co-marketing relationship.

You may set your browser to refuse cookies from any Web site you visit. If you do so, you will still be able to enjoy shopping at Souzaoenterprises.com, though you will forfeit some of the interactive features.

How you know when you are using a secure channel

Both the Netscape Navigator and the Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers have built-in security mechanisms to prevent users from unwittingly submitting sensitive information over insecure channels. If a user tries to submit information to an unsecured site, these browsers will, by default, show a warning in a dialog box.

Both the Microsoft and Netscape browsers provide users with a positive visual clue that they are at a secure site. In Netscape Navigator 3.0 and earlier, the key icon in the lower left hand corner of the browser - which is normally broken - is made whole.

In the 4.0 versions of Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, the normally open padlock icon becomes shut, as shown below:

This is the secure connection indicator for Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 4.X to 6.X). It is visible on the bottom of the right hand side of the browser window.

This is the secure connection indicator for Netscape Communicator (version 4.X to 6.X). It is visible on the bottom left corner of the browser window.

These positive visual cues only occur if a Web site has a valid Digital Certificate, issued by a Certificate Authority, which is trusted by the browser. Special care is recommended even when visiting Web sites that seem to be enabled for secure transmissions. If the Web site's Digital ID is stolen, (e.g. if www.hacker.com tries to use a certificate for www.souzaoenterprises.com), the user's browser will display a pop-up warning saying something such as, "The certificate you are viewing does not match the name of the site you are trying to view."

Users will be able to click "Yes" to proceed, "No" to stop, "View Certificate" to view the certificate, and possibly a button leading to more information.
